Looking back, it was a fine year for Girls on the Rail.

While a lot was said about this year’s crop of GOTRs not living up to past years, a few standouts like the spectacularly backsided Ass Girl 2 (Jillian) and the Norwegian hottie Rachel Nordtomme more than made up for the lack of quantity with serious quality.

Also noteworthy, in no particular order, were David William’s girlfriend, Brad Garrett’s girlfriend, Chick with a Pitbull, Super Cute Tat Girl, “Natasha” the Russian and Tatjana Pasalic the Croatian.

And of course this was pretty hot.

We’ll start the official voting for our Girls on the Rail Hall of Fame next week. For now, browse through the full gallery and let us know who’s your favorite. And if you happen to be one of the GOTRs featured this year, contact us. If you make the Hall of Fame we’ll have some prizes for you.

Poker Tips :2010 WSOP Update: We Have No Lead Today

Carlos Mortensen built a big Space Invaders style stack in the k H.O.R.S.E. event.

We already covered Phil Hellmuth not winning his 12th bracelet, so instead of spending two minutes all sorts of time making up a hook for today, let’s just get into the updates.

:: Event #42 (,500 NLH) – With 25 remaining, James Schaaf takes the chip lead into the final day of play, stacked at 1,258,000. HIYA candidate Dean Hamrick is third overall with 858,000. Also remaining include the insufferably annoying Humberto Brenes (764,000), Mike Sowers (327,000), and Bernard Lee (48,000). Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #43 (,000 H.O.R.S.E.) – The money bubble broke right before play ended, and 23 remain. Cuong Do is the chip leader, stacked at 720,000. He would be a deep track HIYA guy, if you remember him from 2006. Other notables include but are certainly not limited to Brian Townsend (616,000), Carlos Mortensen (503,000), Nick Schulman (402,000), Scott Fischman (347,000), and where-the-eff-has-he-been-this-year Todd Brunson (274,000). Put those 12 bottles of Dom on ice a little longer…

Another close call, but Phil Hellmuth will not win his 12th WSOP bracelet today.

Hellmuth was eliminated in seventh place in Event #41 (,500 PLO 8oB). Had he won, this would’ve been Hellmuth’s first non-hold’em WSOP bracelet. For the…seventh…Hellmuth banks ,633.

When he was introduced and on many hands, we heard boos and even taunts against Hellmuth. The tournament announcer warned the crowd against taunting at one point. While Hellmuth’s TV antics are way over-the-top and probably getting worse, dude has many, many more haters than he did a couple of years ago. Crazy.

In related news, John Gottlieb is currently leading Event #41. If he were to close it out, this would not be his 12th bracelet. However, he may get some coffee, because coffee is for closers.

UPDATE: Another Brit, Steve Jelinek, takes this one down. Jelinek defeated John Gottlieb heads-up for the title, banking 5,871.

With more and more of the 2010 World Cup (USA! USA! USA!) elimination round match-ups coming into focus as first (USA! USA! USA!) and second place finishers for each group are decided (USA! USA! USA!), we also start to get a clearer picture of the leaders in the Wicked Chops 2010 (WSOP) World Cup Bracket (USA! USA! USA!).

As you can see, traegshock (USA! USA! USA!) has a slight edge over tmguchi for the top spot at the moment, and both are just clear of the group all tied in third. The last group stage matches wrap up tomorrow (USA! USA! USA!) to fill out the remaining spots in the brackets (USA! USA! USA!), then the Round of 16 gets underway on Saturday (USA! USA! USA!). That’s when the men will be separated from the boys, cos there’s no partial credit awarded in the elimination rounds (USA! USA! USA!).

Poker News :Men “The Master” Nguyen Wins ,000 7CS Championship

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi (left foreground) brought one of the bigger racks to the final table but was not able to capture his second 2010 WSOP bracelet.

We love cheesy/obvious newspaper headlines, and often try to think of what kind of headline a major event will have (it’s practically how we make our Kentucky Derby picks).

Anyway, we figured it was about 100% that “A masterful win…” would be somehere in the lead for Men “The Master” Nguyen’s victory in Event #10 (,000 7CS), and the wsop.com obliged with the sub-head: “A Masterful Win in the 2010 Seven Card Stud World Championship.”

The victory gave Nguyen 4,807 and his 7th WSOP bracelet (crazy, right?), meaning he’s now just as good of a poker player as Phil Ivey* and Billy Baxter, tying them for fifth most overall.

Nguyen defeated the recently-on-60-Minutes Brandon Adams (3,958) heads-up for the title.

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi finished sixth (,949).

Chad Brown is among the many big names remaining Event #14.

Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan seems more focused/playing more events in this year’s WSOP compared to the past couple (read: prop bets), and his attempt to capture his first bracelet is definitely the major story of the day. Here’s what else is going on at the Rio.

:: Event #9 (,500 PLH) – Brit James Dempsey made his way through a field of 650 to capture his first bracelet and 7,470. J.J. Liu, a woman, finished third (,512). Get full final table payouts here.

:: Event #11 (,500 NLH) – With 21 remaining, the aforementioned Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan ended play as chip leader, stacked at 1,068,000. He’s followed by Marvin Rettenmaier of Germany with 953,000. Last year’s Ante Up for Africa winner Alex Bolotin is eleventh overall with 480,000. Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #12 (,500 LH) – The Limit Hold’em event played town to 13, with Jason Potter (memba him) as big stack with 371,000. Also remaining are Terrence Chan (288,000) and Matt Matros (272,000). Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #13 (,000 NLH) – Day 1A brought in 1922 entrants with 304 surviving. Notable big stacks include but are certainly not limited to Andy Black (90,275), Phil Collins (44,375), Phil Gordon (44,225), Paul Wasicka (27,725), and Shaun Deeb (26,850). Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #14 (,500 2-7 NL Lowball) – The final event of the day brought in 250 players with 67 remaining. Nick Binger ended day as chip leader, stacked at 54,300. Plenty of big names remain, including but certainly not limited to Scott Seiver (46,875 ), Chino Rheem (42,275), Josh Arieh (32,275), Chad Brown (25,325), Erick Lindgren (16,600), Bryan Micon (15,100), and durrrr (10,250). Vladimir Schmelev and Michael Mizrachi are going balls-to-the-wall at this year's WSOP, as both are making another deep run.

Phil Hellmuth’s elimination from Event #8 in 15th place took some of the buzz out of the Rio yesterday. Still, some big names are making runs again. Here’s the latest.

:: Event #8 (,500 NLH) – In the aforementioned Event #8, French-Canadian college student Pascal LeFrancois won his first bracelet, banking 8,974. A meh friends and familyTM final table otherwise. Results here.

:: Event #9 (,500 PLH) – J.J. Liu, a woman, has a chance to reclaim the Year of the WomanTM moniker for this year’s WSOP. She enters final table play stacked third overall with 479,000. Steve Chanthabouasy is chip leader, stacked at 533,000. Two other women, Julie Farkas, a woman (10th) and Melissa Hayden, a woman (13th) just missed the final table. Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #10 (,000 7CS) – The field of 150 has played down to 12, with Vladimir Schmelev big stacked at 921,000. He’s followed by Sirious Jamshidi (638,000) and Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi (544,000). Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #11 (,500 NLH) – The starting field of 2,563 played down to 297. Venkatesh Gupta is the Day 1 chip leader, stacked at 199,100. Some notable big stacks include Blair Hinkle (112,400), Shannon Shorr (64,300), Jerry Yang (49,100) and Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan (44,500). Get full chip counts here.
